As a facilitator, you have now fully established communication with the participants through signaling for attention, inviting to start, welcoming and introducing new members. It is now time to focus on why you are here with the next stage:
5. Objective
The objective should be a clear and simple statement which explains the reason for the meeting. Consider the following statements:
i. I want to discuss all about our end-of-year-party and I want us to make this a great event for everybody in our company.
ii. Today we need to discuss our upcoming end-of-year party.
The second objective is better because of its simplicity and clarity. It can be even more effective to make your objective output focused.
By the end of this meeting, we must decide our upcoming end-of-year party.
